Brithol was the eldest son of Hattie Thomas Garrett and Edward Garrett. He married Lilly Emma Line Taylor August 25, 1935. He only had one marriage and they only had one child, Mary Jane born in 1946. His brothers were, Thomas Parker Garrett, Smith Garrett, Hubbard Garrett, Douglas Garrett, and one sister Winnie Garrett. Hubbard Garrett and Doug Garrett are both burried in Bethlehem Cemetary close to Calvin, La. Smith Garrett lived and died in Florida. At this writing in March 2002 Winnie is alive and living in Washington state and Thomas is alive and living in Anococo, La.
