Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Allison, 87, formerly of 131 Piney Knob Drive, Gaffney, S.C. passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010, at the Brookview Medical Center in Gaffney.
Mrs. Martin was born February 15, 1923, in Gaffney, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson "A.J."Allison and the late Ethel Bailey Allison, and was the wife of Piney Tree Martin, Sr.
She was a retired spinning operator in the Textile Industry, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Gaffney.
She is survived, in addition to her husband, by three (3) sons; Piney Martin, Jr. and wife Barbara, Robert Martin and wife Angela, and Danny Martin and wife Diane, all of Gaffney; two (2) sisters, Vera Mae Moss of Kings Mountain, N.C. and Connie McCraw of Mooresboro, N.C.; one (1) brother, J. D. Allison of Cowpens, S.C.; best friend, Teresa Patterson of Gaffney; along with ten (10) grandchildren and five (5) great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by one (1) sister, Lucille Teague and one (1) brother, Paul Allison.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Martin will be held Thursday, November 11, at 11:00 am at Frederick Memorial Gardens, 986 Chesnee Highway, Gaffney, S.C., conducted by the Rev. Mickey Mullinax and the Rev. Delos Blanton Visitation will precede the service in the Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Chapel at Frederick Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the residence, 131 Piney Knob Drive, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family for the care of Mrs. Martin.
