JEWETT - Dorothy D. Brewer, age 92, of Jewett, IL passed away on November 25th 2010 at the Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Effingham, IL. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday November 29, 2010 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Jewett Cemetery.
Dorothy was born on September 10, 1918 in Montrose, IL the daughter of Clyde & Lizzie (Carrico) Plummer. She married Levi N. Brewer on June 26, 1937 and he preceded her in July of 1949. Surviving are her children John "Buck" (Linda) Brewer of Toledo, IL, Carolyn (Lynn) Brown of Effingham, IL, Patsy (Larry) Wilson of Effingham, IL. Grandchildren Michael Joe (Anne) Wilson, Julie (Scott) Miller, Bridgette (John) Hatfil, Brandi Brewer, Bresha Brewer, Tonya (Jim) Siner and Shelby (Kurt) Overbeck and 13 Great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Louise Brewer, 2 brothers Darrel and Olaf "Bud" Plummer, 3 sisters Wyonda Brewer, Ruth Remer and Mary Cutright and 1 great-granddaughter Peyton Siner. Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked for many years at Norge Manufacturing in Effingham, IL. Memorials can be made to the Donor's choice.
