Mr. Ben Nelson, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late Mr. James "Bud" Nelson and Mrs. Polly Jones Nelson, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, March 16, 1894. He died at 2:15 p.m., Monday, January 10th at the Carter's Rest Home at New Haven after a long illness at the age of 71. He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of a Baptist church in Louisville. He is survived by two brothers and four sisters: Mr. Buddy Nelson of Louisville; Mr. Milton Nelson of New Mexico; Mrs. Heddie Price and Mrs. Lizzy DeSpain both of Campbellsville; Sallie Shofner, Star Route; and Mrs. Cora Hall of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 12th in the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home by Rev. Ralph Boots with burial in Good Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were Elmer, Norman and Ronnie Lewis, Harden and Garnett Mardis and Ray Skaggs.
