Was born in Virgina, moved to Ohio and married Tabitha Penton Moore.
They later moved their family to Decatur county Ia.
James was killed in 1879 when a horse fell on him.
Tabitha eventually moved to Oklahoma with her daughter Martha Goyen's family
Tabitha died in Woodward Co. Ok.
