Nezzie Ruth (Broach) Higgins, 94, of Pollok, was born June 18, 1917 in the Hopewell Community in Franklin County, Texas, the daughter of the late Ruth Lee (Laws) and Otis Allen Broach. She passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Higgins was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved her family and especially doted on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting and working in her garden. Mrs. Higgins was a member of Pollok Baptist Church. She loved her church and was very involved in the activities there.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Avery and Kattie Higgins of wells; daughter, Bobbie Thompson of Pollok; daughter and son-in-law, Carrol and Buddy Wood of Angleton; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Carolyn Higgins of Jacksonville and Tommy and Doris Higgins of Pollok; grandsons, Richard Higgins, Brian Higgins and Greggory Higgins; granddaughters, Kathy Dillard, Amanda Oldham, Belinda Sessions and Regina Mitchell; grandsons, Kevin Higgins and Jeremy Higgins; granddaughter, Shannon Lowery; grandson, Shane Higgins; 18 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Lewis Broach; and a number of other family members and friends.

Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C.W. "Dub" Higgins; son, Lewis Edward Higgins; daughter; Rose Mary Higgins Sessions; grandson, Dewayne Wood; brothers, Bertram Broach, Milton Broach, Otis E. Broach and C.B. Broach; and sisters, Mammie Childress, Mary Greening and Gladys Latham.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Higgin's grandsons; Shane Higgins, Greggory Higgins, Jeremy Higgins, Randy Coe, Don Dillard and Kevin Higgins.

Services for Mrs. Higgins will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Joe Carriere officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
