It is said of the redheaded Roann that she would chase after the Indians with a gun when she was punch drunk with corn liquor. She would also build a roaring fire in the middle of summer when she got drunk and at times would try to make the chickens roost in the middle of the day.

June 28, 1923, The Southern Aegis: Mrs. Rosannah Rebecca Bridges died very suddenly Monday and was buried Tuesday in the Hopewell Cemetery. She was a good Christian woman and lived to the ripe age of 77 years. 60 of these as a servant of God. She leaves two children, Seldon Bridges and Mrs. Oscar Harp, and more than a score of grandchildren. Many friends rise up in testimony of her Christian graces--a large gathering of friends were present at the funeral services. Rev. W.L. Morris conducting services.
