Casper B. Wehner, one of the best known farmers in Allegan county, died at his home in Hopkins Saturday night after an illness of considerable duration. He was successful in his business and by his energy and progressiveness won for himself a competency. Anything that is worth doing at all is worth doing well was his motto. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Kasper Wehner, and is survived by a wife and adopted daughter, mother, two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Drew, of this city, Mrs. A. N. French of Durham. N. H., two brothers, John of Cook's Mills and George of this city. Mr. Wehner was born near South Bend, Ind.. November 7, 1864, and came to Michigan with his parents about 40 years ago. He lived here and in Cheshire for a time. While in the latter place he married Miss Susie Fox. They lived here for two years, then moved to Hopkins, renting a farm and later buying one of the best farms in the township. The funeral was held from the home in Hopkins Wednesday forenoon, conducted by Rev. H. L. Potter of Allegan. Burial was made in Mountain Home cemetery.
