Garland Oliphant, 51, Foxhome, formerly of Campbell, died Sunday, June 1, at St. Lukes Hospital in Fargo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday June 4 at United Methodist Church in Foxhome with Rev. Forrest Strand officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fergus Falls.
Mr. Oliphant was born January 19, 1929, to Earl and Lulu (Nelson) Oliphant in Fergus Falls. He grew up on his parents' farm near Foxhome and attended rural school. As a young man, he began trucking. He had an avid interest in horses. On Feb. 17, 1973, he married Lucille Miller at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. The couple operated the Ranch House in Campbell for six years.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; three sons, Gary of Campbell, Glen and Brian, both of Fergus Falls; a daughter, Lisa, of Fergus Falls; a brother, Blaine of Foxhome; two sisters, Maudie of Foxhome and Mrs. Kathleen Evenson of Underwood; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Greg (Cindi) Geiss of Merrill, Wise., Mrs. Bruce (Diana) Danielson of Campbell, and Suzanne Miller at home; and five grandchildren.
Visitation begins at 3 p.m. on Tuesday and continues through the evening with prayer service at 8 p.m. at Joseph Vertin and Sons in Breckenridge.
Visitation will also be one hour prior to service at the church.
