Joyce Bishop Phillips, age 92, of Greenville, SC, went to be with the Lord Monday, November 22, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Phillips.

Born in Simpsonville, SC, Mrs. Phillips lived all of her life in the Wellford/Greenville area. She was a daughter of the late Edgar Ezra Bishop and Exie Mamie Lawrence Bishop.

She was of the Baptist faith, attended Wellford Baptist Church and more recently Augusta Road Baptist Church. She was retired from Lyman Printing and Finishing after thirty-five years of employment. Her interests were gardening, cooking, and quilting. She was a member of the Wellford Home and Garden Club.

Survivors include five children, Rev. C. Nolan Phillips (Anne) of Cleveland, TN, Alice P. Massey (Marvin) of Chapin, SC, Don Phillips (Jody) of Dandridge, TN, Linda P. Hines (Dr. William B. Hines) of Greenville, SC, and Ray Phillips (Loretta) of Cornelius, NC; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her identical twin, Gladys Vehorn of Florence, SC; sister, Frances Flynn of Virginia; and brother, Howard Bishop of Oklahoma, and a host of friends.

Services for Mrs. Phillips will be Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Wood Mortuary in Greer, SC. Interment will be at Wood Memorial Park, Duncan, SC.
