Catherine Clevenger Shreves, 62, former resident of Shideler and more recently a resident of Fountainview Place, widow of Melvin Shreves, died Sunday in Ball Hospital. She was born in Delaware County near Daleville, the daughter of Arthur and Luby Foltz Clevenger, attended Daleville and Cowan schools and spent her entire life in this area. She lived in Farmland and Redkey before moving to Shideler.
Surviving are her stepdaughter, Reta (Mrs. Larry) Darner, Greenville, Ohio; three stepsons, Richard Shreves, DeSoto, Jerry Shreves, Hartford City, and Bill Shreves, R.R.1., Muncie; her sister-in-law, Dorothy (Mrs. Leonard) Clevenger, Muncie; her niece, Mrs. Keith Greenwalt, Muncie; two nephews, Arthur Lee Clevenger, Muncie, and Danny Clevenger, Knightstown; and several step-grandchildren. Her husband died November 6, 1978.
Services will be held at Union Grove Church of the Brethren, County Road 900-N and 100-W, at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Dean Rohrer and Rev. Albert Hood officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, or one-half hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
