Hastings resident Rosella M. (Weir) Boeding, 69, of 1711 W. Fifth St, died Monday, June 2, 1997, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital after battling cancer for 12 years.
Services were at St. Michael's Catholic Church with the Rev. David F. Bourek officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
Mrs. Boeding was born October 25, 1927 to Matthew and Vivian (McCarty) Weir in Archer, Iowa. On August 12, 1950, she married Kenneth Boeding in Sheldon, Iowa. They lived in Grand Island for 20 years before moving to Aurora in 1968. In 1971, they moved to Hastings. She worked for Dutton-Lainson Co. and Hastings Regional Center and was bookkeeper at Butler-Volland Funeral Home.
She was a member of St. Michael's Cathiolic Church, St. Cecilia's Catholic Church adult choir, St. Michael's Altar Society, Confraternity of Christian Mothers and a cancer support group.
Survivors are her husband: four sons, Canute of Trent, S.D., Stephen of Garland, Texas, Matthew of Hastings and Mark of Columbus, NE: two daughters, Mary of Hastings and Therese Runion of Aurora, NE; two sisters, Ethel Weir of Hastings and Loretta McKenzie of Coincil Bluffs, Iowa; one brother, Matthew Weir of Olathe, KS; and 21 grandchildren.
