Kenneth J. Boeding, 76, of 1711 W. 5th Street, died, Saturday, October 6, 2001 at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Oct 10, 2001 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska, with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Kenneth Boeding was born December 30, 1924 in Nemaha County, Kansas near Seneca to Francis X. & Anna A. (Herbers) Boeding. He grew up in Seneca, Kansas and graduated from St. Peter & Paul High School. He served in the United States Marines during WWII. He lived in California for a short time after his discharge. He entered Creighton School of Pharmacy in Omaha, Nebraska. On August 12, 1950, he married Rosella M. Weir in Sheldon, Iowa and she preceded him in death on June 23, 1997. He graduated from Creighton School of Pharmacy in 1951 and was King Creighton in 1951. After graduation, he was a Pharmaceutical Representative for E.R. Squibb & Co. They lived in Grand Island, Nebraska for 17 years and then moved to Aurora, Nebraska. In June of 1971 they moved to Hastings, Nebraska where he was the pharmacist for Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital and later at the Hastings Regional Center. After retirement, he was a relief pharmacist for area pharmacists. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Men's Club, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, sang in St. Cecilia's Catholic Church Choir and was very active in the Pro-Life movement. He was a past member of Nebraska Pharmaceutical Association, Elks and Platt-Duetsche Society. He was a longtime official of high school baseball, basketball, softball and football.

Kenneth Boeding was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rosella, 2 sons, David & Luke, 1 brother, Greg and a sister, Mary Ann Melchior.
