After a long and painful illness, Miss Myrtle McWherter, one of Martin's most lovable and highly esteemed young ladies, died at the home of her father, Mr. W. R. McWherter, on last Saturday. The death of this beautiful young lady is a sad blow to the aged parents and sisters and numerous friends extend sincere sympathy. Miss Myrtle had been afflicted with complicated illness for many months, and despite the best of medical skill and special nursing, she was only relieved through death. It is sad indeed to part with our loved ones, but some how it always seems more so to give up the young just entering upon the threshold of a bright and happy future, as was Miss Myrtle. She had grown to womanhood amid pleasant surroundings and had gathered around and about her a host of friends, both old and young, who will miss her pleasant, sweet, happy association. The remains were laid to rest Sunday afternoon at the West Side cemetery, by the side of loved ones gone before, funeral services by her pastor, Rev. J. J. Thomas.
