Tully Lee (T.L.) Allen, 78, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. T.L. was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on September 30, 1932, a son of the late Lula C. (Jeffrey) and William A. Allen. He grew up in Centerpoint, Latimer County, Oklahoma. T.L. served his country as an airman in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He again served his county and community as a Fireman with the Sherman, Texas Fire Department from 1959 to 1989 when he retired. T.L. married the love of his life, Millie Francis, on September 8, 1953, in Sherman, Texas. They spent 57 years together during which they raised a family and lived in various places. In 1995, he and Millie decided to return home to his beloved Sans Bois Mountains where he spent so much of his youth logging and hunting. He and Millie resided at Centerpoint over the past 15 years. During these years, he enjoyed his retirement doing what he loved best, hunting hogs and riding in the mountains on his four-wheeler. T.L. was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lela A. Wright. He is survived by his wife, Millie, of the home, and two sons, Tracy Allen, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, and Steve Allen and wife, Debbie, of Pottsboro, Texas. He has two beloved grandchildren, Crystal and husband, James Hill, of Pottsboro, Texas, and Chad Allen and wife, Marlana, of Denison, Texas. T.L. is also survived by his five adored great-grandchildren: Haylee and Hagan Hill, Addison and Rhyan Utesch, and Blakely Allen. He is also survived by three brothers: Bill Allen and Betty of Wilburton, Oklahoma, Dean Allen and Janie, of Sherman, Texas, and Jim Allen, of Muse, Oklahoma, and two sisters, Johnnie Cook and Wilma Overbey and Bob, both of Sherman, Texas, along with a wonderful group of nieces and nephews. Services at Centerpoint Baptist Church, Wilburton, Oklahoma on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Willard Francis and Rev. Bud Vinson officiating. Interment to follow at the Centerpoint Cemetery, Wilburton, Oklahoma. Pallbearers: His nephews: Carl and Mike Cook; Bobby, Tim, and Terry Overbey, Les Allen, Mark Bennett, and Mike Elder. Honorary Pallbearers: Marvin Francis, Dennis Deela, Kenneth Green, Rocky Tomlin and Al Smith. Family will receive friends at Waldrop Funeral Home, Wilburton, Oklahoma on Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
