Death notice in the Poughkeepsie Daily Eagle, Wednesday, Feb 27, 1889 p.8
"The funeral of Mrs. Edward Hughson, who died Saturday morning, took place on Monday, the interment being In the Wappingers cemetery. Mrs. Hughes [sic, Hughson] was a most devoted wife and mother. In sickness or trouble, a sympathizing neighbor and frlend. Three sons and a daughter are left to mourn her loss. A very sad feature in the case is that the only daughter, completely broken down by overwork and grief, and to be taken to the Poughkeepsle State Hospital on the day of her mother's death. Mr. Hughson and his bereaved family deserve the sympathy of the whole community."
