Son of Isaac Newton Hawkins and Rebecca B. Hawkins, husband of Elizabeth Ann Hallock and father of Mary Rebecca, Amy Ann and Ephraim Ebenezer Hawkins.

Described as a farmer, Ebenezer took his own life on Sunday, September 7th, 1879, in the stockyard situated in a grove about a quarter of a mile from the home of his uncle Ebenezer Hawkins in Nassakeag, where he was employed. He was 42 years old, leaving a wife and three children.

Obituary - Ebenezer Hawkins, Jr., employed on the farm of his uncle, Ebenezer Hawkins, at Nissequogue, L.I., committed suicide by cutting his throat in a grove near the house. He leaves a wife and three children, and the only known cause of the act was trouble about a loan of money he was unable to pay.
