Andrew N. Bailey, Eau Claire, Dies; Niles Ex-Resident

EAU CLAIRE - Andrew N. Bailey, 62, Eau Claire, died Wednesday afternoon at 4 in his home. He had been ill for two weeks and death resulted from a cerebral hemorrhage. He was a resident of Yankee street, Niles for 20 years before moving to Eau Claire, 27 years ago.

Son of Susan and Byron Bailey, he was born in Howard township, Cass county, April 25, 1879. He had lived in Eau Claire for 27 years and was a farmer. He was married to Charlotte Preble, Aug. 20, 1914.

Rites Friday
Survivors include his widow; three sons, G. P. Bailey, Max Bailey, and Worth Bailey; all of Eau Claire; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Gilbert, Mrs. Myrtle Crumb, both of Niles; Mrs. George Lewis, Coloma; two brothers, George W. Bailey, Niles, and S. W. Bailey, South Bend.

Funeral will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 in the residence by the Rev. Floyd Barden, Sodus. Burial will be in Eau Claire cemetery. Friends may call at the residence.

Two Local Men Die Wednesday
A. N. Bailey and Frank Johnson, Well Known Pipestone Farmers Succumb on the Same Day

Two well known farmers of the community north of Eau Claire were taken by death yesterday afternoon after being ill for some weeks.

Andrew N. Bailey, 62, prominent Pipestone township farmer, died at his home northeast of Eau Claire at four o'clock Wednesday afternoon. He had been in failing health for several months and his condition became critical three weeks ago.

Deceased was born in Niles April 25, 1879 and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Byron S. Bailey. He is survived by his wife, the former Charlotte Preble, to whom he was married August (corrected from September) 20, 1914, and three sons, G. P. Bailey of Camp Roberts, Calif., Worth of Camp Polk, La., and Max at home. All were at his bedside when death came.

He also leaves the following brothers and sisters, George Bailey and Mrs. Myrtle Crumb of Niles; Sterl Bailey of South Bend, Mrs. Ida Lewis of Coloma and Mrs. Laura Gilbert of Niles. Mrs. Lewis, who is a nurse, assisted in the care of her brother the past few weeks.

Funeral services will be held at the late home at 2:30 Friday afternoon with the Rev. Floyd Barden of the Naomi U. B. church officiating. Burial will be made at the Eau Claire cemetery.
