Mrs. Edward Kehrberg

LE MARS, Iowa – Mrs. Edward Kehrberg, 69, of LeMars, died Monday in Newton, Kan. while visiting her son.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Calvary United Methodist Church in LeMars. The Rev. Edward Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kehrberg, the former Mary Ellen Albert, was born Oct. 21, 1913, in Plymouth County and was a lifelong LeMars area resident.

She married Edward Kehrberg Aug. 11, 1934, at Ida Grove. She taught for 24 years in rural schools of Elgin and Stanton townships, Merrill Public schools, and LeMars Community School, retiring in 1978.

Mrs. Kehrberg was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, the National Education Association, Iowa State Education Association, American Association of University Women, the Mother’s Club, and the Peer Group.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Charles of Worthington, Minn., Donald of Newton and Robert of Portales, N.M.; a daughter, Miss Norma of Honolulu, Hawaii; a brother, Richard of LeMars; a sister, Mrs. Farley (Charlotte) Peterson, of LeMars; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
