It was a cold day and we had baby chicks and when Mom heard them cheeping she told us to bring them into the house, and so we did. The next day Mom was gone, I guess I'll never forget that night she died, I fainted and they took me outside to revive me, and Mom knew something was going on, as she asked me where I was. On the day My Mom died the 5th. of June 1913, it snowed, and we had to wear our winter coats, and they had me and your grandmother Ruth, both in white dresses to wear, they thought we wouldn't have to wear coats.
