Davis Clark 7/5/1832-7/5/1905, was the son of John W. Clark & Mariah Burr Clark. He was born in Haddam, Middlesex,CT. His father and older brother and sister all died within a few days of each other when Davis was only 7 years (1839). He was left the eldest of the remaining three children. His mother remarried William West Lane and they had five little girls. Both William and Mariah died in 1852 on the wagon trip to the Salt Lake valley. Davis, at age 19, took charge of his siblings, half-sisters, and step siblings and got them all safely to Utah.

Davis was married to Priscilla Singleton in 1852, Georgiana Eliza Spence in 1856, Priscilla Blacket in 1860 and Jane Sinclair in 1863.
