Mrs. Margaret Smith, wife of J. Monroe Smith, died April 28 at the home of her son, E.R. Dover, two miles west of Kirksville, aged 81 years. She was born in Adams county, Ill., May 6, 1839, and came to Adair county with her parents in childhood. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, J.M. Smith, who is 94 years old, two sons, E.R. Dover of Kirksville, and William Dover of Goldsberry, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ownbey, of Roger, New Mexico. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, E.R. Dover, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial in Llewellyn cemetery.
