Mr. Boles died Wednesday, November 17 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a retired coal miner and an Army Veteran of World War II, at which time he saw action in North Africa, Italy, Germany, France and Austria.
Born September 3, 1923, in Fentress County, he was the son of the late Savage and Nicie Katherine Smith Boles.
Survivors include his wife, Carlene Lewis Boles of Wilder, a son Tommy Boles of Clarkrange and her husband Stanley of the Love Joy Community; three sisters Ruby Malicote of LaFollette, Lecta Stephens of Dayton, OH, and Sue Bowden of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Jason Looper, Corey Looper, Jessica Phillips and Laura Beth Boles; and three great grandchildren, Heather, Alaz and Hunter.
