Lloyd Lazenby, 77, passed away Nov. 9, 2010 at his home in Blythe. Lloyd was born Sept. 13, 1933 in Mesa, Ariz. to Walter and Anna Lazenby.

Lloyd came with his family to Blythe when he was three years old and grew up here in the Palo Verde Valley. He graduated from Palo Verde High School and attended two years at Palo Verde College. Lloyd was then drafted into the Army, leaving behind his family farm. He served two years active and six in the reserve, and when he came home he met the love of his life, Patsy Taylor.

They were married on March 27, 1959 and in 1966 Lloyd went into his own business running a service station - ENCO on Highway 95. Lloyd continued in the service stations in Blythe, owning and operating at least three Exxon stations. He was a dedicated and church-going Christian. His most prized love was farming and cattle.

He was preceded in death by his baby brother, Charles, his oldest brother Leroy (who was killed in action during WWII); his father Walter and his mother Anna Laura; his brothers Grady and Ralph; his sister Roberta; and his wife of 50 years, Pat, who passed away in 2009.

Lloyd is survived by his two brothers, Ronald and Claude; his four kids, Diane, Kevin, Laura and Rene; his grandkids, Ricky, Tiffany, Christy, Angela, Steven, Kayla, Aaron and Ashley; and his great grandkids, Kyle, Kitty, Kaydence, Faith, Austin and Jackson, and two babies on the way.

Visitation service will be held Nov. 17, 2010 8-10 a.m. at Stream in the Desert Foursquare Church with funeral service beginning at the church at 10 a.m. VFW ceremony and burial will follow immediately at the Palo Verde Cemetery.
