Mrs. Gladys Abbott
Palestine - Services for Mrs. Gladys D. Abbott, 76, Neches, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hassell & Foster Funeral Home in Palestine with the Revs. J. A. Griffin and Otis Felton officiating. Burial will be in Neches City Cemetery.
Mrs. Abbott died Sunday morning at her home.
She was born in Texas on April 4, 1908 and was a member of First Christian Church, Palestine. She was a former Neches postmistress.
Survivors include a son, Jack E. Pinkard, Sr. of Brushy Creek; two step-daughters, Elisabeth "Lib" Tillman of Jacksonville and Mabel Abbott of Grundy, Va.; three step-sons, Forney W. Abbott of Clarksville, Tenn., Richard Abbott of Spring and E. W. "Bubba" Abbott, Jr. of Palestine; four grandchildren, Fay Redd, Paula Pickard, Jack Pickard, Jr. and David Pickard; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth W. Redd, A. L. Freeman, Ronnie Stary, Alton Doucette, Jr., Bethune McDonald and Ira Springer.
