MRS. JOHN BICKET DIES; IS VICTIM OF CANCER

TRAER WIFE AND MOTHER TAKEN IN THE PRIME OF LIFE

WAS BORN AND REARED HERE

One of the Most Beautiful Characters That Ever Blessed a Tama County Home—Funeral Tuesday

Mrs. John Bicket died at her home in south Traer Sunday night after a long illness. She was a victim of cancer, which disease made rapids progress the past few months. Her untimely demise removes from our city one of the most beautiful characters that we ever know. She is taken in the prime of life, being little over forty years of age.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stevenson, of Crystal township, and was born on the home farm March 12, 1876. On May 22, 1901, she married John M. Bicket, and as well stated by her pastor at the funeral, during these years she has been the inspiration and joy of her husband and the light of life and joy to her children. She has been more than that. She has been an inspiration to her friends, who saw so much in her beautiful life to love and admire.
Five children have blessed the union of Mr. and Mrs. Bicket, one of whom died young. The surviving are Dorothy, Robert, Margaret, and Roger. Four brothers and three sisters also mourn her loss- John, Cedar Rapids; Roy Colo; Anna, wife of Ward Wilson; Nellie, wife of Ward Wilson, and Nellie, wife of Wright Wilson, Paul, on the home farm; Harold of this city, and Ruth, wife of Albert McMillan. The parents and husband also survive.

While Mrs. Bicket was much devoted to her home, she also took interest in church work. She united with the church at Tranquillity when child and on locating in Traer became a member of the Congregation al church. At the time of her death she was president of the W. E. Bovey Bible class. The funeral was at the home on Tuesday afternoon. There was a largo company of relatives and friends in attendance. Rev. A. W. Miles had charge of the services. A male quartet sang.
