Henry J. Schlote passed away at his home in this city at 5 o'clock on Monday morning, September 26, 1910. About a month ago he suffered a paralytic stroke while working in the vicinity of Norfolk. He never recovered from its effects. He was born at Sheffield, Illinois, November 26, 1857, and came to West Point in October, 1870. On may 21, 1885, he married Miss Jemima Thuenen. to them were born five sons and five daughters, one of the sons having died. He is well spoken of by those who knew him for his efforts in supporting his family and for his honesty as a man. The funeral servicees were held at the house on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. G H. Hemkin officiating. Interment in Mt. Hope cemetery. to the sorrowing ones the Democrat offers condolences.
