Funeral for Hershel H. H. Shaneyfelt, 67, Austinville-Flint Rd. SW, who died Friday morning at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Service Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James Best and Rev. Floyd O. Parker officiating, burial in Roselawn Cemetery, Brown Service directing.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Rosa Moors Shaneyfelt of Decatur; three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Parker, Mrs. Lila Spurlock and Mrs. Marlene McAfee, all of Decatur; a son, Billy Joe Shaneyfelt of Decatur; a foster son, Lelton Sims of Huntsville; two sisters, Miss Mary Shaneyfelt of Decatur and Mrs. Fanette Morgan of Hartselle; four brothers, George Shaneyfelt, Robert Shaneyfelt, Booth Shaneyfelt and Luel Shaneyfelt, all of Decatur; four grandchildren; three foster grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be J.V. Moore, Tony Dowd, Luel Shaneyfelt Jr, David Shaneyfelt, Ben Ashford and Chet Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Ridgeway, G.L. Ford, Hubert Pinson, Randolph Johnson, Ralph Sellars and M.N. Alexander.
Shaneyfelt was a Baptist, a retired farmer and an officer for many years of the Morgan County Sportsmen's Club.
