George Gerstad, age 89, died on Thursday, February 18, 1993 at a Sun Prairie nursing home. He was born in the town of Sun Prairie on May 21, 1903. He was the son of Berge and Carolyn (Rockney) Gerstad. He married Bernice Feuling on January 29, 1929 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. Bernice preceded him in death in 1984. Survivors include two foster daughters, Patricia (Ron) Youngs of Arkansas and Marjorie Anderson of California; and nieces and nephew, Enid (Ray) Rattmann of Sun Prairie, Ferne (Curtis) Brown of Sun Prairie and Donald (Veretta) Gerstad of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and five brothers, Martin, Henry, Otto, Erick, and Bert. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 1993 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St., with Father Paul Swain officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home on Monday.
