Adam Becker was born in 1889 in the village of Hassloch in what was then part of the Bavarian Kingdom's Rheinpfalz.
On April 17, 1913 Adam married Barbara "Babette" Wittmann in Christuskirche {Christ Church} in Hassloch. To this marriage they had four children:
1) Luise Barbara Becker (1914-2004){md. Fritz Anslinger in 1943}
2) Karl Becker (1916-1978){md. Anneliese Marneth in 1941}
3) Elise Margarethe Becker (1920-2010){md. Ernst Merkel in 1942}
4) Hilde Becker(1925-2014){md. Rudi Hennig in 1951}
Ur Opa was the son of Georg Becker (a Master Butcher) and Margarethe Rieger (she was the daughter of a wealthy farmer from Boehl, near Hassloch). Their house was located at Kirchgasse 88 (in "the bend" where kirchgasse makes a 45 degree turn). Ur-Opa had five brothers and one sister. (birth order): Georg, Heinrich, Adam, Jakob, Jean (Johannes), then Barbara (Babette) and Phillip, born in 1900.
