Fern Tyndall, 87, 708 E. Race St., Portland, died Sunday morning in Americare Living Center, Anderson. Born in Bryant on Oct. 12, 1915 to Martin and Lula (Hoover) Armantrout, she was a Bryant High School graduate. She married Herman Tyndall on April 6, 1935. He died on March 8, 1976.
She retired from Jay Garment Company, Portland and then worked for C.T.S. in Berne.
Surviving are one son, James D. Tyndall, Portland; a daughter , Marilyn Sue Cobbum, Bluffton; a brother, Marion "Jake" Armantrout, Portland; one sister, Doris Shepherd, Portland; seven granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services are Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with pastor Mark Strietelmeier officiating. Burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery,
Visitation is Tuesday at 10 a.m. until services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Portland.
