James Frank Bird, 50, died Thursday in Myrtle Beach, S.C. after a short illness. The Bulloch County native had lived in Myrtle Beach for the past four years. He was a convenience store clerk and a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bernice Rimes Bird, Statesboro; three brothers, Charles Edward Bird and Jerry C. Bird, both of Columbia, S.C., and Walter A. Bird, Statesboro; a sister, Miss Billie Faye Bird, Statesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service for Mr. Bird will be held today at 4 p.m. at the Middleground Primitive Baptist Church cemetery with Elder T. Roe Scott officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Charlie W. Bird on Langston Chapel Road prior to the service. Hodges-Turner Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
