Dabney was born in Crab Orchard, Lincoln Co. Kentucky. He was 6' 1"; light complexion, blue eyes and light hair. He was a farmer.

Dabney was my great-great grandfather.


Enrolled at Indianapolis, Indiana on the 15th of August 1861 under the name of Dabner Davis as a private in Co. E 22nd Indiana Infantry Volunteers and was discharged 2nd day of July 1865 in Louisville, Kentucky. Wounded at Perryville.
