LENA KOONS
Mrs. Lena Koons died in the city hospital early Saturday morning after a lingering illness. She was 80 years of age and the widow of Charles Koons, who died in 1934, She lived in Vernon for 28 years and came to Oneida to live four years ago. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Bernard Behr of Oneida; a son, Earl Koons of Manlius and two brothers, Theodore Marcy of Clay and Daniel Marcy of California. Funeral rites were from St. Joseph's church Tuesday morning, Rev. John P. Lauer officiating. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery.

Former Resident's Rites Tuesday
VERNON — Friends here have learned of the death of Mrs. Lena Koons, widow of the late Charles Koons, former residents. Mrs. Koons had resided in Oneida with her daughter, Mrs. Bernard Behr, for several years, having sold her home to Mr. and Mrs. Glen Adams. Her death occurred at the City Hospital on Saturday, where she had been a patient since early February. Mrs. Koons was born at Mohawk Hill, Sept. 1, 1867 and is survived by a son, Earl Koons of Manlils in addition to the daughter mentioned. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She leaves also two brothers, Theodore Marcy, Clay; and Daniel Marcy, California. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a. m., at the Behr home. 223 North St., Oneida, and at 9:30 a. m. at St. Joseph's Church, Oneida; interment in St. Francis Cemetery, Durhamville.
