Revolution; James was a Pvt in Capt Daniel McClelland's Co, 7th Bn, Cumberland County Militia during the Revolutionary War.

The following info is per a contributor:

This James DAVIS was not a son of Owen DAVIS or James and Patience (Miller) DAVIS." I have the DAVIS bible and, yes, he did have a son named James, but this James was born ca 1785, 24 years after James DAVIS (FAG# 61357177) was born. They also married different people. James DAVIS, son of Owen DAVIS, married Susan FITZGERALE. This James DAVIS (FAG# 61357177) married Keziah PHILLIPS, dau of Samuel PHILLIPS and Keziah ABRAHAM.

Also, James DAVIS who married Patience MILLER did not have a son, James DAVIS.
