John P. Nooning of Baring Died Yesterday Afternoon; Burial There Saturday

John P. Nooning of Baring, 82 years old, died at 2:45 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, March 1, 1961, at his home. He had not been well for five years.

Funeral Services will be held at Baring at the St. Aloysius Church at 10 o'clock Saturday morning conducted by the Rev. Stephen Carew. Burial will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery at Baring.

Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock this evening and tomorrow evening at the chapel of the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina.

He leaves his wife, and one son, Matthew Nooning, of Muscatine, Iowa, and three granddaughters. He is survived also by two brothers, Andrew Nooning of Ft. Madison, Iowa, and Ed Nooning of Denver, Colo., and five sisters, Mrs. Annie Ludden of Adair, Mrs. Florence Ainslie of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Margaret Moore of Ft. Madison, and Mrs. J. W. Taylor and Mrs. Mary McCloskey, both of Baring.

John Patrick Nooning was born Dec. 13, 1878, in Adair County, one of the fourteen children of William H. and Rose Ellen Quinn Nooning. He was married to Anna Eagen at Adair June 30, 1914.

Mr. Nooning had farmed in Knox County for several years and had a grocery store at Baring and also dispatched the mail from the post office to the depot there for several years. They had lived in Baring since 1928.

He was preceded in death by his father, Aug. 16, 1916; his mother, Feb. 20, 1937; three brothers, Matthew, Celesten and William Nooning, and three sisters, Katie, Isabelle and an infant sister.
