Eldyess Cox was born in Hardeman County, Tenn., in 1829, and was married to I. M. Macon in 1844. She had been a member of the church of Christ for twenty-five years. She and her husband moved to Texas in 1886. She had been a widow since 1896. She was the mother of fifteen children, all of whom are living, except two. They are all members of the one body. Sister Macon died of consumption on May 6, 1902.
