Mrs. Lavina Deakin
CUBA (Special) --- Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Paul J. DuBois at 3 o'clock (DST) Thursday in the Hukill Funeral chapel for Mrs. Alice Lavina Deakin, a lifetime Cuban who died Monday in the Lewistown Nursing Home following a several years illness. Burial will be in Cuba cemetery.
Born in Canton, March 8, 1868 a daughter of Isaac Granville and Elizabeth (Fast) Henderson, she was married in Cass township on March 14, 1886 to Justus Deakin, who preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Lee Deakin and Roy Deakin in Cuba; two daughters, Mrs. Mae Laughery in Canton, and Mrs. Josephine Leet in Chicago; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A daughter, a son, six brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Deakin was a member of Sinnett Chapel church.
