BOTHWELL - Nels Andersen, 78, died at his home in Bothwell Monday of causes incident to age.
Surviving are his widow; nine sons, Bishop N. Ursel Andersen, Portage; Calvin O. Homer C. and Kenneth L. Andersen, Garland; Roland P. Andersen, Salt Lake City; Roscoe J. Virgil L. and Wayne Andersen, Bothwell, and Lloyd H. Andersen, Brigham City; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Hoskins, Portage, Mrs. Luccille Fosberg, Ogden, and Shirley L. Andersen, Bothwell; three brothers, Hans Andersen, Wendell, Idaho; Rasmus Andersen, Bothwell, and Casper Andreasen, Brigham.


Nels Anderson Laid to Rest

Funeral services were held for Nels Anderson, 78, at Bothwell Thursday under the directions of Bishop Leo Stokes. (16 Dec 1943)

Mr. Anderson passed away at his home Monday (13 Dec 1943).

He was born Oct. 5, 1865, at Faune, Denmark, a son of Jorgen and Marie Casperson Hansen Andersen. He came to the U.S. in 1869. With his parents at the age of three and settled soon after at Bear River City, where the family lived until 1902. He married Lena Peterson Jensen on Dec. 16, 1891, in the Logan temple. Eleven years later the couple moved to Bothwell, where they pioneered the vicinity. There he helped to build the irrigation system in that section and assisted in building four L.D.S. ward chapels. He had been a high priest and ward teacher to the Bothwell ward. Following the death of his first wife. in 1917, he married Alice Brain, June 21, 1919,
