BLY - Mary E., daughter of C.S., and Julia Bly,
Sunday June 19, 1881, at her home in New Oregon, Howard county, Iowa, of Consumption, after an illness of six months, aged 14 years, 2 months and 18 days.
Mattie was a lovely girl, and possessed of that true amiability which secured friends of all who knew her. She was conscious to the last minute, not afraid to die.
When about to leave she shook hands with her classmates, and the members of her family, saying good bye - she was going to be with her mother and wanted all to meet her in Heaven.
