MRS. HUFFMAN LAID TO REST
Dies Sunday Evening After Almost a Year's Illness Buried Tuesday

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Wm. Huffman who was called to her reward Sunday evening. The services were held in the Methodist church and remains laid to rest in the Rose Hill cemetery.

The funeral service was preached by the Rev. Stanworth of Crystal Lake. He was assisted by the Rev. Hotchkiss of Burt who read the scripture portions, and by the Rev. Bachelor of Peterson who lead in prayer and pronounced the benediction.

A ladies quartette consisting of Mrs. E. H. Hurless, Mrs. C. C. Peckham, Mrs. S. E. Isaacs, and Miss Florence Wilson and Miss Bernice Wilson at the piano furnished special singing. A large crowd was present at the obsequies.

Friends from out of town were: Mrs. and Mrs. Charlie Huffman of Coultier, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bryan of Dows, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Huffman of Williams, Dr. and Mrs. J. F. Russ of Blue Earth, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Badker of Mason City, Mrs. and Mrs. A. B. Russ of Buffalo Center, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Badker of Swaledale, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Pollock of Garner, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Gilbert of Algona, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom McGrady of Livermore.

Irene Helen Huffman was born at Buffalo Center on August 23, 1899 and passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Ostrander of King township on Sunday evening, June 24, 1928 at 11:00 p.m. She was 28 years 10 months and one day old. When but a small child she moved with her parents to a farm in the vicinity of Thompson, in which locality she grew to womanhood and spent her life. She attended public school in Thompson and actively interested herself in the doing of the schools.

Through the years she was closely connected with the Methodist Episcopal church and Sunday school of which she was a member.

On February 5, 1919 Irene was united in marriage to Gerald W. Wilson. To this union was born one child, Warren Harding Wilson, now eight years old who is making his home with his maternal grandparents. Gerald Wilson's life came to an untimely end on November 1, 1923 when he was fatally injured in a run-away accident.

Following the death of her first husband, Irene returned to the home of her parents where she resided until September 28, 1925 when she was joined in matrimony to Mr. Wm. Huffman of Thompson.

Mrs. Huffman has been in failing health for almost a year, though her relatives and friends did not realize until lately, that she so soon was to leave them. When she realized the end was near she confidently affirmed her faith in Jesus Christ and her willingness to depart and be with Him.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Wm. Huffman, of Thompson, her son, Warren Harding Wilson; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Ostrander; two sisters and three brothers: Mabel (Mrs. F. E. Bullard) of Rineard, Ill., Ruth (Mrs. Ruth Granzow) of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Clarence of Britt, Earl of Buffalo Center and Robert who resides with his parents, besides many other friends who will greatly miss her going.

She is at rest. The pains and tribulations of life for her are over. She has taken the journey from whose bourne no traveler returns. Let us also prepare ourselves, for we know not at what hour the summons may come to us.
