Remington Woman Passes Away
Mrs. Eunice (Baines) May, 71, of Remington, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in Jasper county hospital, Rensselaer, where she had been a patient for five days.
Born in Wolcott( birth record filed in Jasper Co.) Nov. 22, 1900, she was the daughter of George and May (Hodshier) Baines. She was married in 1921 to Harry R. May, in Remington. He died in 1942.
Affiliated with the Christian church of Remington, she had lived in that vicinity most of her lifetime.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Rensslear, American Legion Auxiliary to Post 280, Remington, VFW Post 7450, Watseka World War I Veterans Auxiliary, Happy Home Hour Extension club of Remington and World War I Barracks 219 Auxiliary of Brook.
Surviving are three sons, Charles R. of Gary, Kenneth R. of Logansport and Delmar R. of Canada; one daughter, Mrs. James (Janet) Minick of Remington, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were to be held at Stitz funeral home, Remington, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, with Rev. Richard Fox officiating. Burial was to be in Remington cemetery.
