Percy Harris, Jr.
Percy Harris Jr., 94, Sarasota, died Jan. 23, 2006. He was born Oct. 29, 1911, in Norwood, Va., and came to Sarasota in 1968 from Camden, S.C. He retired from E.I. Dupont Corp. after 35 years and was a member of Masonic Kershaw Lodge 29. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was a Presbyterian. Survivors include his wife, Eila; a daughter, Peyton Babb of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Percy III of Denver; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. No local services are planned. Services will be in Scottsville, Va. National Cremation Society, Sarasota, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg, FL 33742; or to Bay Village Endowment Fund, 8400 Vamo Road, Sarasota, FL 34231.
