Of Stanton, Dies
STANTON - Mrs. Susie Etta Brewer, pioneer resident of Stanton and widow of W. T. Brewer, died suddenly Thursday evening at Odessa.
Funeral will be held here Saturday at the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery beside the grave of a son, Garland Brewer, who served as county treasurer here for 17 1/2 years before his death June 23, 1950. Arrangements are in charge of Arrington Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brewer, who has been staying recently in Odessa, had been ill since last Christmas. However, she appeared Thursday evening to be in excellent spirits and was quite active before she was stricken suddenly. Rushed to the Ector County Medical Center, she was pronounced dead of a heart condition.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Essie Green, Odessa; three sons, Alvis Brewer, Stanton, Lloyd Brewer and Berlon Brewer, Odessa; two brothers, Hugh Jones, Dallas, and Sam Jones, Athens. She also leaves five grandchildren.
