Ethel Lourilla Baker was born at Cook, Nebraska, April 4, 1919, and died at York, Nebraska, April 15, 1932. She was the daughter of Arthur J. Leslie and Laura Ethel Baker, both deceased.
She is survived by five sisters, Margaret of Chicago, Ill., Gwendolyn and Winifred of Lincoln, Nebraska; Doris and Dorothy of Winona Lake, Indiana, and six brothers, Leslie, Harland, Arthur, Jack, Clarence and Ralph Eugene.
Ethel was an attractive child, greatly loved by all with whom she came in contact.
Probably there was no one in the Home more cordially related to every other member of the Home than was Dolly Baker. She was instinctively trustful, kindly, winsome, reverent and sincere. Her daily contacts with other young people were of such a character as to make her presence wholesome and joyous. Quiet and patient in her own trials she had a quieting and consoling influence upon others in the time of their problems and perplexities. From the religious viewpoint of life she was unusually responsive. Religious truths to her were not mere speculation-- they possessed her heart and mind and it was not an unusual thing for her to express her faith and her prayers. Her passing has produced a great sorrow in the hearts of the children at Mothers' Jewels Home.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Oliver Keve.
The girls' quartet sang three numbers.
The body was taken to Edgar for interment beside her parents.
York Daily News-Times.
A goodly number of friends assembled at the cemetery for the commitment services which were in charge of Rev. S.G. Rasmusson.
