Arthur J. Lesie Baker was born at Percival, Iowa. Sept 20 1877. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Baker. At the age of twelve years he removed with his parents to Cook, Nebraska where he graduated from the high school at fifteen years of age. Later, he attended the Wesleyan University. He was married to Miss Ethel Turner of Cambridge, Nebraska, June 28, 1905, and to this union were born twelve children, six sons and six daughters, who with his wife, survive him. He was converted at the age of fourteen and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church. He passed away at his later home, near Edgar, Friday morning, Nov 24, 1924, aged 47 years, 2 months and 1 day. Besides his family, four sisters also survive him. Funeral services were conducted from his late home, Sunday, Nov 23, 1921 at 2:30 p.m. Mr Charles A. Shook, minister of the Christian Church of Edgar officiating.
