Harry E. Pflugfelder died Friday morning, April 24, 1953, at the Glidden Hospital in DeKalb where he had been a patient for five weeks.

Mr. Pflugfelder was born in Pierce Township May 10, 1887, son of Jacob and Elizabeth Pflugfelder. He spent his youth in the community and as a man farmed for 36 years on the homestead.

He was active in the Pierce Evangelical Church, which he served as Sunday school treasurer for over 30 years and was a member of the church board for five years.

October 22, 1913 he was married to Mrs. Jennie Kramer who passed away in September 1927. November 10, 1937 he was married to Frieda Wilkening.

He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Eleanor Mae at home; a stepson, Raymond Kramer of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Fred Miller of Maple Park, and a half sister, Mrs. Lydia Eberly of Dixon. One sister and two half-sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Wirtz Funeral Home at DeKalb and at 2 o’clock from the Pierce Evangelical United Brethren Church. The Rev. Maurice VanLaningham officiated. Pallbearers wee all nephews of the deceased, Francis Miller, Harold Miller, Leslie Miller, Glenn Miller, Wilbur Gramley of Aurora and Herbert Eberly of Dubuque, IA. Earl and Doris Pritchard sang two selections at the service. Interment was in the Pierce Cemetery.
