A long-time resident of Spokane Valley passed away peacefully early Friday morning October 29th at her home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 4:00PM at All Saints Lutheran Church, 314 S Spruce St # A Spokane, WA 99201 with burial at the Wilbur Cemetery in Wilbur, WA, at 12:30 pm. The youngest of three children, she was born in Rotterdam Holland on April 16, 1923, Willy immigrated to the United States after World War II and married Gerhard O. Jurgensen in 1952. Willy was preceded in death by her husband Gerhard on October 21, 1992, her brother Joop Drost, brother Karel Drost and his wife Louise. She is survived by her son; Timothy G. Jurgensen of Marysville, WA, her daughter; Karla L. Managhan and her husband Kevin of Spokane, WA; grandchildren; Megan, Erika, and Gregory Managhan and great-grandchildren; Carissa and Breyona, all of Spokane. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Throughout her forty-two years of marriage she enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, traveling and membership in the Spokane valley cap and ball Black Powder Club with her husband. Always on the go, she held numerous jobs in the cities and towns she lived in while on the job with her husband. She also attended Kinman Business University in Spokane. In 1957 the couple purchased a home in Millwood, WA to start their family. Willy was very active in her children's lives participating in PTA, being "room mother" and was a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout Leader. She was also very active with the Spokane Percussionaut Patriots serving as a chaperone during the Corps many travels throughout the U.S. and Europe. She began a new career in 1968 as a Tupperware sales associate and quickly found her niche and success. Well known for her 'Dutch Accent', she became a Tupperware manager and continued her successful career until she retired in 1984. After retirement she became a member of Millwood S.C.O.P.E. and coordinated the annual Millwood parade for a number of years until 2008. She was very active in the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church and volunteered and contributed to numerous charities. Willy was very ingenious and creative. She loved woodworking, needle point, knitting and crocheting, gardening, music and sports.
