Wilson Henry Abels died Sunday, April 24, 1994, at Medical Center of Baton Rouge. He was 79, a resident and native of Springfield. He was a retired Livingston Parish school system educator, with 40 years service, having last served as principal of Springfield Elementary School. He was a retired Louisiana Department of Agriculture produce inspector.

Survived by four sons, Richard Henry "Dickie" Abels and Thomas Ray "Tommy" Ables, both of Springfield, Harold Michael "Harry" Abels, Pumpkin Center, and Mark Andrew Abels, Springfield; a daughter, Susan Elizabeth Martin, Springfield; three brothers, Charles "Bubbie" and Harold Abels, both of Springfield, and Ed Abels, Utah; two sisters, Katherine Fayard, Springfield, and Lillian Maurin, Hammond; and eight grandchildren.

Preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth McIntyre Abels; a daughter, Karen Ruby Abels; a son, Wilson Abels; four brothers, Jacob, Ralph, Raymond R. and A.R. "Dee" Abels; a sister, Helen Easterly; and parents, Alexander "Dick" and Rubye Pussey Abels.
