Honolulu Star Bulletin, July 11, 1952, p. 1. Louis A. Buese, Hawaiian Electric Executive, Dies. Louis Anton Buese, 65, senior vice president and director of the Hawaiian Electric Co., died at 2:30 this morning at St. Francis Hospital after an illness of 10 days. Earlier this year he had played an important part in conferences at Washington which brought final approval for the site of the company's new $10,000,000 power plant. The conferences arranged return of Army land to the Territory, to be followed by a land exchange for the new plant site at Alakea, Halekauwila, Richards and the Alla Moanna. Born June 13, 1887, in Republic, Mich., Mr. Buese arrived in the island November 1937, to work with the firm as a design engineer. Mr. Buese attended the University of Michigan. Prior to his arrival in Honolulu he was associated with the Los Angeles Gas and Electric Co., and the Bureau of Power and Light in Los Angeles. Surviving are two sons, Sherman F., who arrived yesterday from Los Angeles, and Louis Philip, a resident of Maui, and a daughter, Mrs. John Warner of Honolulu and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow at Williams Mortuary, the Chapel of the Chimes. The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Donations may be made in Mr. Buese's memory to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children. Mr. Buese was a member and former president of the Oahu Country Club, a member of the Outrigger Club, the Pacific Club, the Engineering Association of Hawaii, Aloha Temple, the Honolulu Chamber of Commerce and the Republican Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He made his home at 3641 Diamond Head Circle.
